The FPU women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Roberts Wesleyan (NY) on Friday in Santa Clarita. It was the team's first game of the season.
RWC's Mandi Hochheimer scored all three goals, striking in the 16th, 28th and 50th minute.
“We struggled defensively to shift from a training mentality to match conditions," said head coach Erik Farfan. "We simply didn’t take advantages of our chances. Credit to Roberts Wesleyan."
FPU took as many shots as the Raiders with five, but only got one shot on goal by Jessica Pereschica. Pereschica took two total shots, while freshman Mariah Alvidrez took three.
The Sunbirds return home next week for their annual alumni game on Friday night at 6 pm. The home opener is the next night as they take on Marymount College, a first-year program, at 7 pm.
