RIVERSIDE, Calif. - No. 14 Fresno Pacific (32-14) took its first loss in the double-elimination GSAC tournament to No. 18 Point Loma Nazarene (35-16-1). The Sunbirds allowed seven runs in the third inning, and never could rebound as they fell 12-5.
Dane McLaughlin produced the most offense for the Sunbirds with a two-run home run and going one-for-three at the plate.
The Sunbirds only had 8 hits to Point Loma’s 17 hits including three home runs.
The Sunbirds will have a re-match against The Master’s College in an elimination game at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 12. If they win, they will face the loser of the Point Loma-Cal Baptist game in another elimination game at 3 p.m.
