FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (29-13, 21-13 GSAC) continued where they left off in game-one against San Diego Christian (10-31, 10-24 GSAC) with 4 home runs and 16 runs in their 16-1 victory.
Five Sunbirds had two RBIs or more with
Jared Coleman and
Blaine Taylor leading the way with three RBIs apiece.
Case Rigby and Taylor were perfect on the day hitting 3-for-3 and 2-for-2, respectively.
Coleman, Rigby, Taylor and
Alec Mehrten each hit a home run for the Sunbirds.
The Sunbirds performed as strongly defensively as they did offensively holding San Diego to only one run and five hits.
Michael Rivera earned the win for Fresno Pacific pitching six innings while allowing only four hits and no runs. The Sunbirds’ bullpen pitched the final three innings allowing one hit and one run.
The Sunbirds will finish their regular season on the road with two more games against San Diego Christian. Fresno Pacific will play a doubleheader on Saturday, May 1st in San Diego beginning at 12 noon.
