Head Coach Dennis Janzen has announced the signing of 6’-1” senior middle hitter Kathleen Anderson of Lemoore High School in Lemoore, California. Anderson comes to Fresno Pacific University after a highly successful career as a Lemoore High School Tiger.
Anderson was named the MVP of West Yosemite League her senior year after earning First Team honors in her junior year. She was also recently named to the Fresno Bee Volleyball All-Stars First Team. An outstanding student, Anderson brings impressive credentials both on and off the court to the storied Sunbird volleyball program. A three year varsity starter, Anderson helped lead Lemoore High School to the West Yosemite League volleyball championship in 2009. She is also a member of the Sports City Volleyball Club. Anderson’s high school coach is Kim Rix and her club coach is Matt Terra.
“We are very pleased that Kathleen has chosen Fresno Pacific as her college home. She brings all the attributes of what Sunbird volleyball is all about. Kathleen is committed to becoming the best player and teammate she possibly can be. She is also a very gifted student and leader,” states Coach Janzen. “Kathleen has tremendous potential and could compete for a significant role already in her freshman year.”
Anderson joins a Sunbird volleyball program that has won five NAIA national volleyball championships, sixteen GSAC championships, and has turned out over 70 All-Americans in its history. The Fresno Pacific University Sunbirds are the current three-time defending national NAIA champions.
