IRVINE, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (11-1, 3-1 GSAC) easily defeats Concordia (8-7, 1-5 GSAC) in their doubleheader. The Sunbirds outscored the Eagles 20-6 winning 9-3 and 11-3, respectively, and combined for 22 hits and 16 RBIs for the day.
Case Rigby hit his fourth homerun in game-one with a two-run shot in the first inning to put the Sunbirds up 2-0. Rigby hit 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs for the game, and went on to hit 5-for-7 with 4 RBIs for the doubleheader.
The Sunbirds led 4-1 after the fourth inning, and opened up a five-run inning to lead 9-1 and cruise to their first win.
In game two, the Sunbirds trailed 1-3, but scored 10 runs in four innings to dominate in a 11-3 victory.
Tyler Pryor led the Sunbirds with 2 RBIs hitting 2-for-5 in game-two.
Kelyn Schellenberg (3-0) and
David Hawes (3-0) both earned wins for the Sunbirds, allowing four hits and three runs apiece. Schellenberg pitched another complete game for the Sunbirds in their game-one win.
The Sunbirds will return home to take on Concordia in another doubleheader on Friday, March 5. The first pitch will be at 12 p.m.
