KANSAS CITY, MO. - The Fresno Pacific men's basketball team opened NAIA National Tournament play with a 74-61 upset win over No. 9 seeded Campbellsville University of Kentucky Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri.
After trailing at the half 32-29, the Sunbirds regrouped and came out in the second period more focused and determined. FPU shot 48% (15-31) from the field in the second half and had three players finish the game in double-figures helping Fresno Pacific to the 13 point win.

Alex Davenport led the way for the orange and blue with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while senior guard
James Lewis Jr. netted 14, and nabbed 6 boards on the night.

With the win, the Sunbirds improve to 25-8 and advance to a second round matchup against John Brown University (Ark.) scheduled for Friday March 19th. Tip-off is set for 9am (CST).
