No. 9 Sunbirds win 6-2 over No. 13 Thunderbirds
FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Pacific (5-0) continued their strong start with a win over No. 13 British Columbia (1-1). The Sunbirds scored four runs in the fifth inning to cruise to a 6-2 victory.
Kelyn Schellenberg owned the pitching mound taking all nine innings allowing only six hits, two runs and four walks with three strikeouts. The Thunderbirds scored both their runs in the second inning, then Schellenberg kept them scoreless with only four hits for the remaining seven innings.
Case Rigby led the Sunbirds hitting two-for-four with two RBIs and a stolen base.
The game was tied going into the fifth inning 2-2, but the Sunbirds offense began to roll with four hits and a walk with four runs.

Dane McLaughlin and Rigby all had RBIs in the fifth inning to put the Sunbirds ahead by the final score 6-2.
The Sunbirds weekend continues with two more games. Fresno Pacific will take on San Francisco Academy of Art on Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20. Friday’s game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start time while Saturday’s will begin at 11 a.m.
