Martina Gregusova and Tiffany Marinos were named Most Valuable Players for the Fresno Pacific volleyball team as the national champion Sunbirds honored their undefeated season on Monday.
Gregusova, a sophomore transfer from Mississippi State, was a first team NAIA All-American and MVP of the national tournament. Marinos, the Sunbirds' only senior, is a versatile performer who switched from libero to outside hitter for the 2009 season.
Other awards announced Monday:
-- Coaches Awards, middle blockers Lisa Shilling and Lauren Albertson.
-- Most Inspirational, Marinos and libero Mariah Mandelbaum.
-- Most Improved, Mandelbaum and setter Emily Carroll.
Fresno Pacific finished 38-0 and defeated Georgetown of Kentucky in straight sets in the national championship match.
