FRESNO, CA. - The Sunbird women's basketball team came from behind to defeat GSAC opponent Hope International 52-46 Saturday afternoon in FPU's Special Events Center.
Fresno Pacific trailed 19-30 at the half after a slow start, but closed in on the Royals during the second period to eventually take a 47-46 lead with 1:31 left to play.
Notably, the Sunbirds held Hope scoreless during the final 3:43 of the contest as they narrowed the gap and went on to claim the victory.

Jessica Mazza led the Sunbirds in scoring with 14 points, while junior forward
Jessica Torrecillas contributed with 12 and was solid in the paint grabbing 12 rebounds.
Sophomore forward
Keri Stephanoff also chipped in with 11 points and snatched 10 boards for the orange and blue.
With the win, the Sunbirds improve to 4-11 overall and will host #12 Azusa Pacific next Tuesday (1/12/10) at FPU's SEC. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
