OJAI, CA – Play concluded at the 109th Ojai Tennis Tournament with two runner-up finishes for Fresno Pacific’s Alex Gonzalez.
In singles action, Gonzalez advanced to the championship match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Concordia’s Augusto Elias
Cal Baptist’s No. 1 singles player, and 2nd-seed Alessandro Ventre, proved to be the more polished competitor as he handed the 6th-seeded Gonzalez his first singles loss of the year 6-4, 6-3.
Gonzalez is 22-1 on the year.
In the doubles championship match, No. 1 seed Gonzalez and Vicente Joli fell to No. 4 seed Martin Vaisse and Ventre 7-5, 1-1, retired.
Fresno Pacific concludes the regular season with a home match against Westmont on April 28th at 2:00pm.
