Mobile, AL – Four times was not the charm for the Lady Sunbirds as they fell 5-0 to Auburn University Montgomery in the NAIA national title match on Saturday at the Mobile Tennis Center.
AUM claimed their sixth straight title and 10th overall championship. The Lady Senators wasted no time by sweeping doubles play for a 3-0 lead.
From there, AUM lost just two games in singles action.
No. 6 Brittany Salley dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to AUM’s Dominika Zuzulova, while Tereza Veverkova won 6-1, 6-1 over Vanessa Heroux to clinch the title.
The Sunbirds end the season with a 24-2 record and a No. 2 national ranking.
